History in Art in Falmouth

Every year, the Falmouth Historical Society and Falmouth High School Ceramics Program collaborate on a project that showcases the history of Falmouth through the creativity and talent of the school's art students. In this year's project, If These Houses Could Talk, the students created ceramic birdhouses that reflected the architecture and history of homes in Falmouth Village.  The Captain Tom Lawrence House was honored to be included in the collection.

The birdhouses were on display at Historic Highfield until May 14 and now hang at each of the homes they depict.  A self-guided walking tour is being created and will be available at the Museums on the Green and Falmouth Chamber of Commerce.  The tour will continue through September 15, 2014.

The Museums on the Green will kick off its 2014 season on May 23.  The museums and exhibits will be open Tuesday - Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
