Rhododendrons are bustin' out all over.  It's been a spectacular flowering season for these Cape favorites, with vibrant blossoms in pink, white, red, and purple. As you can see in this photo, the "rhodies" at the Captain Tom Lawrence House Inn are just getting ready to bloom.  Elsewhere in the area they are out in full force.

For one of the region's best displays, check out  the Heritage Museums and Gardens in Sandwich.  Their annual Rhododendron Festival runs through May 25, 2014, with walking tours, a plant sale, and talks by experts.  Here in Falmouth there is the Ashumet Holly Wildlife Sanctuary off  Route 151 and Spohr Gardens.  Or, just take a drive through town.  They're everywhere!
